Nobody likes you, Tuesday. Go home.

This picture has nothing to do with this post.  Except for the way I'm hoping it will soothe my fried brain.

So I was reading all up on Bonnie's blog, and last night she wrote a post about how Mondays deserve more love because "how would YOU like to have to follow the weekend thank you very much!?  It's not an easy job!"  (Bonnie, that is now one of my new all-time favorite lines!) and I was thinking.  Tuesdays kinda get a little lost in the shuffle, since Monday takes all the heat from people.  Tuesday is just kind of a blah day.  No one really cares about Tuesday.  So I was thinking last night about how I should write a post about giving Tuesday some love since it probably feels neglected and awful about itself that nobody cares about it.

But then.   (Those are some famous last words if I ever heard)

But then.

This morning, I woke up with a migraine and feeling nauseous.  For no reason.  Already I knew that today was ruined, because there is never a day when you wake up with a pounding headache and think, "Today is going to be fabulous!"  No.  It doesn't happen.  So, I took three Ibuprofen at 8 am before walking out the door.  No breakfast since I felt like I couldn't keep anything down.

I thought that would be the worst of it today.

Nope.

As I was about to get on the highway, I came this close to being hit by some idiot who thought it was a good idea to run a red light.  Since when is that a good idea at a busy intersection?!  Then, I thought, "Okay.  Being two feet away from someone crashing into me is pretty bad.  No doubt things can only go up from here."

Nope.

I made a beeline for Starbucks as soon as I got to school, since caffeine reduces the amount of bloodflow in your brain, thus helping to soothe a headache.  I nursed that through my two-hour stats class, which didn't end up helping.  I was staring like a hawk at the clock, waiting for it to approach the four-hour mark since I'd taken the painkillers, so I could take another few.  At 11:30 am, all bets were off.  This headache was not going away.  I mean, 11:30 is close enough to noon anyway, right??  Another three Ibuprofen.

Neither my headache nor nauseousness started to fade until 2 pm, a full six hours after I'd first taken some painkillers.  Thanks, Ibuprofen, for having my back on that one.  Really appreciate it.

Oh, but that's not even the worst of it.  Halfway through my three-hour-long art class, I got up to go the bathroom, and what happens?  MY JEANS ZIPPER BREAKS.  These jeans are hardly a month old.

Keep in mind that all of this is already on top of the stress I'm feeling from working two jobs, being super unprepared for finals next week, and getting my first tattoo tomorrow (HOLY CRAP).  It's an understatement to say that stress is at an all time high.

All I could think today was:
This is the payback I get for planning on dedicating a post to singing your praises?!  No more love for you, Tuesday.

  1. Sorry that Tuesday didn't turn out great. Personally, I'm like the dad in My Big Fat Greek Wedding (the one who thinks all ailments can be cured with windex) except I believe that water makes everything better, especially for headaches and stress. I love how finals season comes up right before the holidays, as if they weren't stressful enough. Thank you school, for my stress ravings and the dead look in my eyes. Also, why are celebrities the only ones that get hospitalized for exhaustion? I want someone to tell me that I'm so tired that I physically cannot do anything! Hope you feel better and make it through the next few weeks with your sanity intact. I'm sure next Tuesday will work out much better!

  2. Awww, sorry for the bad day. We were actually talking about how a morning's a 'Good Morning' yesterday in my drama ministries class in co-op (don't ask why).

Yikes, good luck with your tattoo.

  3. I always hated Tuesdays more than Mondays. You're right they are just kinda there. And everyone waits for Wednesday because it's almost Friday then. But Thursday I guess is the better day cause the next day is Friday! LoL!
I saw that you commented on Bonnie's blog and mentioned me and said that in the ASL community it's not rude to ask if someone is pregnant! I thought that was really weird cause I know ASL! It was really random and this comment is really long!I'll stop now!
