Knitting for Confidence #8

As promised, my Knitting for Confidence post!  I finished this little guy a few weeks ago for a classmate, who LOVES it.  Always makes me so happy to hear people appreciate my work.  :)  She first approached me about a month ago, asking if it would be possible to knit the Philidelphia Eagles logo into a hat, and at first I was a little apprehensive about it, but while we were talking, I hopped onto Google search to look for a knitting chart someone might have done.  I couldn't believe it, but I found one.

It wasn't until after I downloaded it and got a good look at it did I see how big it was.  Something like 75 stitches wide.  I wanted the logo for this hat to be about 30 stitches, so the entire logo would be seen at one glance.  So that meant creating my own chart from scratch.  From a detailed graphic.  Re-enter feeling apprehensive.

But somehow I did it.  It was tedious and a little frustrating at times, but I actually made my own chart from scratch.  And if you forget about how many details get lost in knitting, it actually isn't too shabby!  It also looks better when the real logo isn't right there to compare it to.  ;)

Have you tried anything adventurous (knitting or otherwise) lately?  xx

Autumn Bright

jacket & top | forever 21   jeans | the gap   necklace | from a friend    boots | madden girl   purse | modcloth

I, Megan Cooper, am obsessed with Modcloth.  Head over heels obsessed.  I thought I knew what obsessed was, but it turns out I didn't.  Until this purse arrived earlier this week.  It is fabulously delicious in all its stone-colored, skeleton key glory.  Mmm.  Times like these, I love being a girl. How could you not, with something like this on your shoulder?!

I just have to warn you, the posts for the next two weeks will probably be fairly sparse, as I prepare for finals.. bleh.  I can't even tell you how ready I am for the semester to be over.  And yet when I stop to think about it, I can hardly wrap my head around the fact that there is one week left of classes.  When did time fly by?!  When I wasn't looking, apparently.

BUT.  To make up for my lack of things to talk about (I won't bore you by telling you all the details of how I spent seven straight hours at my dining table painting yesterday), I have a Knitting for Confidence post planned for this weekend, and more importantly, a really awesome DIY to share!  It's been circulating around the interwebs so much lately that you've probably already seen the surprise party video; when I described this DIY to friends I would tell them, "I'm so FREAKIN' excited."  Just like Kristen Wiig.  Except I didn't realize I sounded just like her until after the words came out of my mouth.  I know.  You're jealous that Kristen and I operate on the same wavelength.  I understand.  ;)   xx

One and only

dress & jacket | forever 21   boots | madden girl   tights | payless

Whew!  Both of my college apps are done and out of my hands.  That's what I keep telling myself when stress levels near capacity.  While I know that there's now literally nothing I can do to affect my acceptance, my irrational right brain is still going crazy with worrying and stressing about "what might be".  It's definitely time for some munchy/high-sugar/comfort food, knitting and a good chick flick.  Maybe two.

I have to say, I love this outfit way more than I thought I would.  I bought this dress in August of 2010 and wore it once that month.  It hasn't seen the light of day since then.  I'm not really sure why, but I always skim over it when I rifle through the clothes in my closet, deciding what to wear.  When it comes to the female brain, who knows what we're thinking.

I almost forgot the exciting news!  I have a first date tonight (or last night, last weekend, what have you... whenever you read this!) with a guy I met a few weeks ago.  Seems nonchalant, no?  Until I tell you this:  he is literally almost a foot taller than me.  Which is saying a lot considering I'm 5'10".  I'm gonna let that sink in.   xx
