Cabled Mug Warmer

I feel somewhat proud of myself for completing (well, almost) my second project in the last few days.  This one is a cabled mug warmer, and I decided to make it because I wanted to use up the last of the yarn I had used for my Burberry inspired cowl, and a hat I made a few weeks ago (still have yet to photograph said hat...).  Somehow, this skein seems endless!  I still have yarn to use.  I'm too lazy to measure it, but just by looking at it, it seems that I'll have enough yarn to make another mug warmer, and after that I'll have to decide what to do with my scraps..

The only thing this puppy is waiting on to be completely finished is a button or two, for the loop that will go through the handle.  Someday soon I need to go up to Petaluma to a quilting shop that said they carry a few buttons...  No one else seems to.  If they don't, I'm going to be kind of screwed, now that Ben Franklin's no longer exists here in town...  If only I'd had the foresight to stock up on buttons there when they announced they were closing!  But, alas, hindsight is 20/20.

Enjoy your Tuesday!

Burberry Inspired Cowl

Finally!  I have finished this cowl, and I couldn't be happier!  I started this the weekend of November 13th (I think), and just finished weaving in the ends a little bit ago.  You can find the first post I made on this cowl here, if you'd like.

Here is the actual Burberry cowl, which retails at a whopping $750!  I was able to make this neckwarmer for only a dollar or so.  ;)  And it turned out not half bad, if I do say so myself!  If you'd like one for yourself (or someone on your Christmas list!), feel free to email me and I can make one to order for you.  :)

Now back to some knitting (what else is new??) and something warm to drink, because I would really like to feel my feet again..

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Aghh I haven't posted anything in days!  I feel really guilty that I haven't had anything to blog about lately...  So, in lieu of that, I thought I might share a few glimpses into the holiday decorations around my house.  :)

I simply cannot believe it's December already.  At work today, I was talking to a customer and he was telling me that his favorite holiday was New Year's, and it struck me that it's less than a month away.  It literally feels like yesterday that we rang in 2011, and here it is almost ending.  Where did time go?

Enough of my ramblings.  Now, to get back to some knitting, and maybe a few Netflix shows before I head to bed.  Are you decorating for the holidays?  Maybe just a little?  :)
